A Bold New Chapter for Africa’s Eventing Industry
The Festival of Eventing 2025 made its highly anticipated debut in Cape Town, setting a new standard for the future of eventing in Africa. The inaugural edition brought together 350 event professionals, 85 speakers, and representatives from 10 countries, creating a powerful platform for innovation, collaboration, and industry growth.
Innovation, Inspiration, and Connection
Hosted at the Century City Conference Centre from 8–9 August 2025, the festival blended high-level insights with unforgettable experiences. The opening ceremony featured performances from Danielle Bitton, the Ithemba Youth Choir, Mo Magic, and dynamic hosting by Alan Committie alongside FOE’s AI assistant, Ask Nia.
The program included:
- Masterclass circles and international keynotes
- Wellness sessions like Chair Pilates and Sunrise of Strength & Serenity
- Networking zones designed for authentic connections
- The Eventurers’ Soirée, a sunset celebration of creativity and community
Key Themes and Industry Impact
Delegates explored cutting-edge topics such as:

Highlights included a keynote from Lorne Sulcas – The Big Cat Guy, a sponsored luncheon by Old Mutual, and interactive exhibitions showcasing the latest in event technology.
Founders’ Vision
Co-founders Keshni Reddy, Devi Paulsen-Abbott, and Betty Sichivula emphasized that the Festival was designed to be more than just a conference.
“We wanted an experience that leaves people thinking, feeling, and connecting differently. The calibre of speakers and the unity in the room exceeded every expectation,” they shared.
Betty Sichivula added:
“This event was a love letter to our industry. It showcased Africa’s world-class talent, ideas, and stories.”
